This November 14th at the Petersen Automotive Museum, as part of their annual Classic California auction, Bonhams and Butterfields will offer bidders the chance to own Steve McQueen's 1941 Indian 74ci Chief motorcycle.

The Indian was his 'Hollywood' bike, and third wife Barbara Minty, in her photo-book, Steve McQueen: The Last Mile, wrote "Taking a ride down the coast on this 1941 Indian bike was one of our favorite pastimes". The bike featured prominently on the cover of that book, and also in Matt Stone's McQueen's Machines: The Cars and Bikes of a Hollywood Icon.

Other McQueen machinery up for auction will be his 1949 Chevrolet 3100 Pick-up, and son Chad McQueen's personal 2001 Ford Mustang Bullitt Edition, which was car number 1 in the series.

Also on offer will be Steve's personal "Jr Bonner" belt buckle made for him by the Rodeo Cowboys Association, as well as several rare press photographs.
