Steve's Husqvarna 250	Product description on ebay: Originally owned by Steve McQueen and was purchased in the fall of 1970. Steve McQueen had this bike picked up in Sweden and flown back to France during the filming of Lemans. A employee from Solar Productions had contacted Edison Dye "who controlled Husqvarna sales in England,Japan Australia,North and South America also other parts of the World". No Husqvarna sales were made without Edison Dye knowing about it. Eveything went through Edison from 1966 - 1972. I have 1000s of Husqvarna letters,docs and invoices for these years.
Cont: The employee that contacted Edison was to ask if they could bike picked up 2 bikes in Sweden and be billed to Solar Productions in the U.S..Included as documentation are, memo of this transaction,sales invoice for bike,MSO and California release of liability from Husqvarna to Solar Productions. Steve rented a Chateau close to where they were shooting the movie Lemans.The Chateau had riding area around the house and its property. After the filming of the movie the bike made its rounds from owner to owner.There are 3 McQueen Husqvarna 400cc found but this is the only 250 known to exist.
