Jules Verne Festival recently held a mega McQueen bash to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Steve’s death. The event included a police escorted motor parade of Mustangs, Porsches and Jaguars which was attended by Steve’s first wife Neile and his son Chad, as well as a star studded night at ArcLight Hollywood in the Cinerama Dome which included a special screening of Bullitt. Guests in attendance at the Arclight evening included Neile, Chad and all of Steve's grandchildren, who proudly accepted the Jules Verne Légendaire Award on behalf of Steve. Also up on the stage were Bullitt co-stars Jacqueline Bissett, Robert Vaughn and Don Gordon, and Bullitt music composer Lalo Schifrin, all of whom spoke fondly of Steve. British McQueen fan Teresa Peacock came out all the way from London, England to celebrate over the McQueen week of events and attended both the car rally and the Arclight evening of stars. Teresa thrilled some fans when she arrived at the rally in Mike Farrell’s much admired 1968 replica ‘Bullitt’ Mustang Fastback. During the day she met other McQueen fans, chatted to Neile and got a couple of hugs from Chad McQueen.

One highlight of the motor car parade was the official dedication of “Steve McQueen Square” on the Corner of Santa Monica Blvd and Highland Avenue.
