Original uncut 196 minute "roadshow" version of The Sand Pebbles to be released June 05, 2007.
Steve McQueen and Candice BergenSteve McQueen and Candice Bergen Originally released in a 196 minute "roadshow" version, The Sand Pebbles was later cut to 182 minutes for it's broad general release. Previously only available on DVD in it's 182 minute cut, fans will now be able to see the film in it's original glory with several additional scenes providing fuller story and character development (especially for Steve McQueen's character Jake Holman.)

Technical details are sketchy at this point but it appears that it will be a 2-disc set with new special features not available on the previous DVD release, and will contain the regular cut version of the movie on the first disk and the restored "roadshow" version on the second disc.
