Thomas Crown (played by McQueen) is a Boston Blue Blood.

Bored with his life of wealth, he finds pleasure in toying with the very elite society which made him a rich man by masterminding bank robberies. All goes to plan until the bank's frustrated insurance company hires ace crime solver Vicki Anderson (played by Faye Dunaway). When the two meet, romance develops, and Anderson must choose between the man she is beginning to love, or the job she is being paid to do.
