"The Movie Poster Art Gallery", situated at 1 Colville Street in London, was a
lovely venue for this special occasion... It is a two story building, modern and not too large, which created a
lovely environment to look at the framed prints from Barbara's new book The Last Mile, which was
co-written by Marshall Terrill (writer of the definitive McQueen book Portrait of an American Rebel).
The evening started at 6.30pm and within minutes the venue was full of Steve McQueen fans, awaiting a chance
to look at the prints. There were also a lot of PR and Media people in attendance.
The fans were not dissapointed, the framed prints seemed to bring Steve McQueen alive, and what made it all
the more special was that Barbara was on hand to discuss how the pictures were taken and how they came about,
and Marshall was there to discuss anything to do with Steve (brilliant). Each story to me, brought out of the
picture, Steve's personality and sense of humour.
The evening lasted till 9pm and I personally advise whoever can, to get down there and see the pictures for
themselves, and buy a print before they leave.
A truly unforgettable evening. |
