Warners to remake Steve McQueen's 'Bullitt'

Rumours have been floating around for the past week that Brad Pitt will finally get his wish to star in a remake of the classic Steve McQueen film Bullitt, and now respected film website Cinema Retro have stated that they have it from a “reliable source” that the remake rumour is a FACT, but Pitt is still unconfirmed to star.

Here’s a scoop from a confidential but reliable source: Warner Brothers has seemingly reactived long-dormant plans to remake the classic 1968 film ‘Bullitt’ starring Steve McQueen. The studio has long sought to capitalize on this box-office blockbuster. Years ago, it was considered having McQueen’s son Chad star in a sequel to the iconic detective movie. The project is in its early stages and WB executives are soliciting scripts from prospective screenwriters. The studio is certainly taking a gamble even considering remaking such a popular film, especially one that still holds up well today. Rumors have it that Brad Pitt will have the title role, though no confimration has officially come from Warner Brothers.
